On November 11th, 400 scholarships including cash and products were awarded to good and disadvantaged pupils in Dong Nai province through the Scholarship Fund of “For pupils going to school".

The Scholarship Fund of “For pupils going to school” was initiated in 2003 by Ajinomoto Vietnam and the Dong Nai Studying Encouragement Association to share difficulties and motivate disadvantaged pupils to study well. This is the 14th time the scholarship ceremony of "For pupils going to School" was deployed for pupils in Dong Nai province.

This year, beside 200 scholarships for good and disadvantaged students at Secondary and High Schools in Dong Nai province with a total value of 220 million VND, together with schoolbags, books and Ajinomoto’s products, the program was also joined by three Japanese enterprises operating in the province. To put it simply, Vietnam – Japan Gas Joint Stock Company, Quadrille Vietnam Co., Ltd. and Kureha Vietnam Co., Ltd. also accompanied with the scholarship of “For pupils going to School" to award 200 scholarships with the total worth of 220 million VND to good and disadvantaged pupils in the province.

Speaking about the maintenance and development of the scholarship fund throughout the years, Mr. Keiji Kaneko, General Director of Ajinomoto Vietnam, said: "We believe that the Company cannot grow without the sustainable development of the province and local people. In which, Education should be the root for that development. We are honored to cooperate with Dong Nai Studying Encouragement Association through 14 school years to grant the scholarship to good and disadvantaged students.”

Mr. Kaneko also hoped that these scholarships, to some extent, would encourage the pupils to achieve a brighter future for themselves and their families and become excellent citizens of the country.
Over 25 years of development in the fields of food and nutrition in Vietnam, besides the contributions in cuisine and health, Ajinomoto Vietnam is also well-known for its meaningful social activities. In addition, the School Meal Project that aims to improve the nutritional status of primary school pupils is being implemented across the country.

The company also collaborates with the National Institute of Nutrition, Ministry of Health to implement the project of Vietnam Nutrition System Establishment Project (VINEP), including the establishment of training programs for nutritional bachelors, nutrition-related developing regulatory systems and policies in order to improve nutritional status and health of the Vietnamese.
